Permanent departure from Australia - Temporary Residents

If you are a temporary resident and you are permanently leaving Australia you may request your accumulated superannuation to be paid to you. More information on the conditions of release can be found on the Australian Taxation Office's website.

Auswide may be required to pay your superannuation benefit as unclaimed benefits to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) if six months has elapsed since you have departed Australia and your visa has expired or been cancelled. A member exit advice will not be provided as Auswide relies on the relief from the obligation for members whose benefits have compulsorily been transferred to the ATO. Where contacted, Auswide will provide members with information about the payment that will allow them to apply to the ATO to claim their benefit.
